In search of new experiences and a need to enhance my taste in film, I recently purchased on of the books from the “before you die” series called, 1001 movies to see before you die. A hefty book indeed, covers movies from all across the board — silence black and white films to popular films such as The Social Network.
A good film will make you feel and has a profound impact on your life — something barely seen in Hollywood anymore. I’m looking for art to enrich my life, and what better way than to watch the best movies ever created? I have never been much of a movie goer, or really took much of an interest in films. That is, until I watch something so shocking as Oldboy that makes me crave for more of this quality cinema.
The 1001 movies to watch before I die project comes from a need to not only watch films, but also think about them in a personal manner. As a way to get insight from myself to myself, I plan to give a short review of the films in this book on this blog.
What to expect?
a 500 word or less review — I will be reviewing the films and my personal insight on the film.
a poster — As a graphic designer, I feel the need to create. Indeed, an ambitious goal, 1001 movie posters will be created and featured on this blog.
I will be also posting the Posters on a Tumblr blog— so be sure to follow my blog on there as well! I’m excited to bring you all on this adventure with me! So let’s start watching!
